So it's Halloween today and I was supposed to be pumpkin carving with some of my beautiful friends but instead I'm feeling under the weather in bed. Luckily yesterday I was well enough to create a zombie look for my lovely housemate Becky and I thought I'd share some of my methods as Halloween will surely roll into the weekend shenanigans!

OH AND THEN THEY MADE ME INTO AN AVATAR - JUST FOR FUN - how do i look?
2. We next did a bite mark - mainly because this wasn't in our trial run and I wasn't sure where I was going with it.
- Using a strip plaster Becky drew out a bite (bite down on a folded piece of paper and open it up if you need a stencil) then cut out the middle and the teeth - this can then be stuck where desired. we went for the chest area as it would stick to places more prominent with bone.
- Then in the gaps (where the teeth are) push in some ripped up cotton wool pads for texture
- Now using a very wet red face paints colour over the plaster and cotton wool. Mix red with black to add shadow
- Mix vaseline with a dark red lipstick to form a paste that resembles dried blood and using fingers push that on top of the cotton
- Drip big clumps of dark red/brown nail polish to make the bite look deeper
-Keep layering until you get the desired look

3. Okay now face after base
- smudge red lipstick in the hollows of your cheeks (where you'd contour) blend with your fingers and then blend on top some brown shadow. I use a combination of brown eyeshadows from the MUA eyeshadow palette and Harmony from Mac. Go up on to the temples and ensure that a bruised, muddy shadow is established.
- Put a base on the eyes that is very nude then take the red lipstick again and blend this around the eyes. Again blend some brown on top and also mix in some black to make the eyes look tired and drained.
- Take the dark brown into the inner corners of the eyes, around the sides of the nose bridge, around the nostrils and that bit between your nostrils (not sure what its technically called - APOLOGIES). A lot of blending and layering will make this look eerier and more realistic so this may take a while.
4. Okay so from the photos above you can see that we took another fabric plaster - just a standard one and cut a wonky line in the middle (do not cut the plaster in half!). Again this was filled with cotton wool.
5. Repeat step 2 - exactly the same sort of layering of multi-tone lipstick whether they be inexpensive or my lovely Black Cherry from Revlon. The more shades the more realistic this will look. I additionally took some of the NW15 concealer on a small lip brush and pushed that into the cut between layers of red to resemble infection. MMMMM TASTY,
6. To make it look like less of a plaster blend lipstick red or face paint on to the skin. Using tweezers lift gently and re stick down the plaster to make sure it is not too straight. We want to make it look like she's hit head really bad.
7. Final touches - using a small angled brush draw veins onto the neck, under the eyes and along the jaw line. - Blend brown/black eyeshadow into the neck and collar bone to make yourself look skeletal. Oh and add fake blood where necessary - you are a zombie after all. Nothing need to be neat but as I've said again and again in my boring monotonous way - layers add to the realism. Hair should be random and tights ripped. So walking dead-esque
